Fun fact: engagement sessions are my absolute favorite to shoot! There is no stress or pressure on the couples at all (like there sometimes is on the big day) - it is just pure fun! Engagement and proposal sessions are usually captured at a location that is significant to the couple. If nothing comes to mind, I have plenty of great location ideas all across the island to offer! Not sure what to wear for your engagements photos? Because these photos are often used for the save-the-dates, wedding websites, pictures in your home and more, it's important to put together outfits that feel 100% like you. Here are some tips:

1. Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable. Wearing anything extremely outside your level of comfort will make you feel awkward, and that'll translate on camera!
2. Complement each others outfits, but you don't need to match. Look for complementary colors and solid prints, as anything too busy could be distracting in photos. Also, make sure your styles of dress match. As an extreme example: if one of you is wearing a ballgown and the other is in sweats, it won't translate well in photos. Of course I do not expect you to wear either of those things, but you get what we mean!
3. If you'd like, bring a change of clothes! This will allow for you to get photos in a few different outfits and maybe in two different styles (for example, something a bit dressier and something a bit more casual).
4. Keep the season in mind! Because engagement shoots are almost always shot outdoors, make sure you're dressed appropriately to endure the weather.

Should you choose to book your wedding with us, an engagement session is often included in your wedding package! Even though we are great together, our packages can be made to exclude videography or photography. We understand that you may only need one of our services! Pricing is not listed on our website, but it can be easily obtained by giving us a call, text, or filling out the contact form. Prior to your engagement session, we are available to meet in person, or via telecommunication whether it be a phone call, a facetime, or a Zoom meeting. Hint - if you meet with us in person, you will get to indulge in a delicious charcuterie board!

Surprise proposal sessions are very nerve-racking, for both the groom-to-be and the photographer, but are so worth it in the end! The moment lasts only seconds so to capture it, we would suggest hiring a professional photographer, like myself. Proposal sessions are quite literally engagement photos, so like engagement sessions, they are usually shot at a location that is significant to the couple. In order to prepare as best as possible, here are a few surprise proposal tips:

1. Determine your proposal location well ahead of time - make sure it's some place special to you both! This will give the groom-to-be and me the opportunity to do a walk-through of the location and nail down the important details, like where he'll be getting down on one knee! Some of my favorite proposal locations include: Fire Island, Montauk, the Hamptons, Long Island Wine Country (Aquebogue, Bridgehampton, Cutchogue, Greenport, Jamesport, Mattituck, Peconic, Riverhead, Sagaponack, Southold, etc), Robert Moses Beach, and many more!
2. Pick a time! I would suggest later in the afternoon, as the sun is at the best spot and giving off the best lighting during that time.
3. If you cannot meet in person beforehand, make sure to share photos/what you plan to wear so I know who to look for.
4. Be sure to inform me if this is a public proposal, meaning if friends and family will be nearby. Not only will this help with identifying where I need to be (if unable to meet in person) but it'll help with tip #5 as well!
5. Plan to spend a little extra time after the proposal to first take it all in and then to enjoy a mini engagement shoot as a newly engaged couple!
6. Have a backup plan - weather, life, and more are very unpredictable! So whether it be a different date or a different location, make sure you and I have a Plan B if needed.
